When the (Travel) Bug Bites

It has been 18 years since our visit to England. My husband's cousin's little kids and babies then are now all grown up. Since that last trip, we have had a lot of life-changing events happen: we bought a house, got married, renovated the house, had a kid, and of course, there's that huge mortgage that needs to be paid off. Sixteen years after we bought the house, we are at the tail-end of the mortgage. The light at the end of the mortgage tunnel is close at hand. Our daughter will be in high school in the fall, and there won't be a lot of chances to travel while she is at school--the less expensive shoulder season to travel to Europe. So we bit the bullet, and booked our 3-week trip to England, including 3 days in Bruges, Belgium this summer. I will be blogging about this trip hopefully daily. Stay tuned.
